London Road, Burpham - Active Travel Scheme

Following the postponement of the London Road Active Travel Scheme in December 2022, the London Road Action Group (LRAG) has been established so that all communities can actively engage in the discussions going forwards regarding the work Surrey County Council wish to undertake.

Whilst this falls outside of the responsibilities of ARAL, we recognise this impacts our Resident's directly and hence have got involved with LRAG so our views can be included too. John Myles has kindly offered to be our link to this group and if you wish to receive his updates and forward your views please email him at 3myles9@gmail.com

SCC continue to post their updates at

The document below outlines LRAG's Purpose and Objectives, Working Practices and Ethos, and Core Structure. You will see how ARAL fits into the working groups for communication and consultation on the final page.

LATEST NEWS

31 Jan 2023

LRAG has been formed as a means to ensure that as many members of the public are kept aware of SCC's intentions, unlike with their previous lack of consultation. A Facebook page will soon be created and will contain email addresses for contact with LRAG. LRAG offered their services as a 2-way conduit for engagement with a large network of the local population. This offer was welcomed and accepted by SCC and information will be forthcoming and feedback from them will be possible through this channel.

Currently the latest news is the scheme is unlikely to start construction before the summer holidays, with SCC wanting to start contact with stakeholders by the end of February, and arrange drop-in events in March/April.
